One of the most popular costumes for children is kids Jack Sparrow costumes. While Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann were Jack’s counterparts, there is just something so special about the notorious captain that both boys and girls wish to emulate him. Commercially made costumes of the great Captain Jack are always available and can be Disney-branded or are off-branded, but are designed to closely resemble the original character’s costume. While there are many different types of pirate costumes, there are subtle differences that make Jack Sparrow’s costume different from others.

First, the pirate hat is a tri-corner, brown hat that looks weather beaten. This hat has fallen in the depths of the ocean, been stolen by Barbosa’s monkey and has survived being marooned on an island. Attached to the hat is Captain Jack’s wig. Parents love kids Captain Sparrow costumes for this fact, as many of the pieces are attached together, which help prevent lost costumes. The hairpiece is a black, long-haired wig with ornamentations of braids and shells attached to the front hair. Since he is outside most of the time, hair appears windblown.

There is the loose white shirt, dark pants and calf-length boots that are easy to find in most places. His dark coat again is not in perfect condition, as the seawater has weathered it, and has pocket to keep his much-treasured compass. In addition to the compass, Jack Sparrow also has a hand-held telescope, swashbuckling sword and a pirate pistol.
If purchasing a ready-made Captain Sparrow costume for your child, many times the costume is sold and the accessories must be purchased separately. Costumes are usually sold in boys’ sizes, so if a girl wishes to dress up as Jack, parents should compare costume measurements, or purchase individual clothing items and buy all of Jack’s accessories. Shoes are not usually included with costumes; however, if wishing to purchase similar appearing shoes, black waterproof wishing boots or riding boots will coordinate with the costume’s overall theme.
